Inspired by nature, Simon Peter Sai is a Ugandan self-taught, innovative, mixed media artist who uses waste or found objects to produce remarkable artworks. His art process utilizes found objects such as plastics, scraps of cloth (off-cuts), papers, bottles, and metals. His unlimited creativity speaks for itself as he incorporates multiple materials into one final masterpiece (Mixed Media). Sai is the founder of Sai Arts Gulu, co-founder of VASA Art movement, and the Art coordinator for Northern Uganda Visual Artists (NUVA).
Sai is aware that waste in different forms is being emitted into the environment, and that it’s everyone’s role to conserve the environment from all forms of non-degradable wastes. He is cognizant of the fact that wastes transformed into visual arts or recycled will be saved from returning into the environment.
