Miriam Makeba, nicknamed Mama Africa was a South African singer, song writer, actress and civil rights activist.
She was an advocate against Apartheid policy and white minority government in South Africa.
Makeba was the first vocalist to put African music on to the international map in the 1960’s.
Makeba is well known throughout the world as “MAMA AFRICA” and the “Empress of African Songs-
