Yiga Joshua has always been interested in the various forms that art can take. During the lockdowns of 2020, he was concerned that the pandemic would prevent
him from bringing Zadde to life. However, as restrictions eased, he was inspired to get back to work, creating art for fun and eventually producing amazing results.
Initially, he was just creating the art for fun, to get his creative juices flowing. But after a while, the results were amazing.

The materiality of this work is also a potent symbol of the natural process of decay and how stopping it is causing climate change; this material decays and
ages, materials that refuse to adhere to this like plastic are harmful to our environment.
The dolls that are created through organic processes, embodies the organic element of procreation and propagation. Its personality is dynamic and fluid, in a
way that is similar to a child’s imagination.
