Chadrack Makano

My artworks speak more about social-political issues with the aim of connecting people and giving a voice to the voiceless. In my native language, my name MAKANO means intersection. I believe I’m the bridge that will connect people from different backgrounds.

Most of my artworks are created by writing down my thoughts, emotions, feelings, and noise from the society… in English, French, and Swahili and I call them “ABSTRACT POETRIES”

The incredible thing about this style is that most words I write can’t be read once the artwork is completed because I believe those words are more meaningful, powerful, and deep in their absence than in their presence.

Now I’m working on a series called TIMELESS where I use my heroes who passed away already as references and most of them are blacks painted using blue markers to represent their spirits.

The series explores the thousands of differences between the TRUTH and FACTs. It shows the TRUTH to the viewer, that people I paint are still living with us in our actions… when FACTs are trying to lie by showing them that they died.
