On the social inequalities of these times and past.
The patriarchy has superficially inflated egos, the delusions of grandeur hinted at with the inflated condom, these power constructs that are so rooted in our cultures that we’ve been raised to embrace and consequently been ‘boxed’ to believe (symbolized here by the optical illusion). These societal standards, (the blue and pink worlds?) have put so much pressure on how men “should” act so their ‘manliness’ isn’t compromised. Societal conditioning from which most patriarchal ego stems all of which at the
expense of another demographic. And so it will shun any looming hint of a close counter.
A conversation that we love to not talk about. From this same boat, the shore is long out of sight.
On the physical installation of the artwork is a ‘picked and chosen’ spot, X, marked on the floor, onto which the viewer stands. A point from which the illusion is aligned. This is where society and consequently your thoughts have placed you.
