Lost Identity

An Optical Art Study on the Basis of Cultural Development.

This is an evocative art project by a modern renaissance artist, Ssenkya. His work is influenced by the ‘Allegory of the Cave’ a Socratic dialogue penned by Plato, and Carolingian art from the late 8th century. The series investigates the chance to be open to cultures far and wide by fusing objects from other areas and combining them with African culture to showcase an unconventional visual structure. He intends to start a train of thought that will lead to endless possibilities for exploring different cultures through artistic, aesthetic, and developmental tactics.
Ssenkya is also inspired by Koi fish and robotics. Because koi fish are known for swimming against the current and overcoming great obstacles. They represent strength, courage, perseverance, patience, and success. This relates to who we are as a civilization.
Later in the series, the robots reveal how far the world has progressed to accept the co-existence of aliens, (in this case robots symbolizing other cultures). The intensity of yellow and red tones reflects wealth, riches, spiritual purity, and the precious nature of life.

This project has been exhibited at the end of his internship training at Hatimax Art Studio and the Wings of Charity Gala & Auction.
